House Professor-Dean

The House Professor is the Dean and leader of the House community and provides intellectual and social direction for the House. The House Professor-Dean works in close partnership with the Assistant Dean, graduate and undergraduate staff, Active Citizens, House Fellows, and the Keeton Collective to maintain the welfare of the House community and the well-being of its individual members.

C. Lindsay Anderson is an Associate Professor in Biological and Environmental Engineering, and the Interim Director of the Cornell Energy Systems Institute. Lindsay teaches and conducts research in the areas of sustainable energy and the environment, with particular interest in integrating renewable and distributed resources into electric power grids. Lindsay’s work has been funded by the US National Science Foundation, Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, US Department of Energy, and Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability. She holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from University of Western Ontario, and a B.Sc.(Engineering) and M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from University of Guelph in Canada. In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys reading science fiction, being active, knitting the occasional hat, and spending time with her partner Chris (a professor in the School of Hotel Administration) and their three sons Carter (20), Wiley (18) and Koen (14).
