Shade was born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York. She is a senior majoring in Human Biology, Health, and Society. Shade has taken a variety of courses in the College of Human Ecology, with a focus on nutrition and human development. After graduation, Shade plans to attend medical school and continue exploring her interests in anatomy and physiology. One of her goals is to address public health issues in underserved communities in both the United States and abroad. Shade is excited about the prospect of making healthcare accessible and equitable to as many people as possible.

Beyond the classroom, Shade is a member of Cornell University Emergency Medical Services, where she serves the Cornell community as an EMT. She also works in the Keeton House Office, where she is able to connect with other Keeton residents and staff. Shade enjoys exploring Ithaca with her friends, reading, and learning how to cook.
